Location: Benghazi, Libya

Main purpose
To collaborate with MSF Medical and Psycho-Social staffs on the integration of psychiatric interventions into our program in order to alleviate the psychological suffering of mothers of our beneficiaries emotionally affected by the war, according to MSF principles and protocols.
Responsibilities
Provide Mental Health follow-up to mothers suffering from psychiatric disorders with specific attention to the cultural context.
Propose prescriptions of psychotropic when necessary and re-assess on a regular basis those prescriptions.
Evaluate in-country available psychiatric services including possibilities for psychiatric hospitalization and the quality of these services.
Refer patients to specific psychiatric care when the problematic of the MSF beneficiary is out of the scope of intervention of the project.
Establish collaboration/communication with psychologists and counsellor in the project in order to achieve a multi-disciplinary care approach to the patient and his family.
Collect data on a regular basis
Keep the files of the beneficiaries updated and ensure the confidentiality of the information recorded.
Provide training and supervision to national and international medical staff on diagnosis and treatment of severe and common mental health disorders
Ensure that proper information on treatment and follow up are collected in order to monitor the provision of care.
Qualifications and skills requirements
Education: MD degree, specialized training in psychiatry
Experience 3 years experience minimum as a psychiatrist. Desirable previous experience with NGO’s
Languages: Arabic and English
Knowledge: Computer literacy
Qualities
Good ability in dealing with children, commitment, flexibility, stress management, teamwork, strong communication and organizational skills
Working hours
Part time – 2 days/week
